Ooh man, 1:07 onwards, that's that shit I do like~

The track was nice and trippy with a sort of space vibe going on, but man, I feel like that wobble just added that bit of oomph to everything. Or maybe that's just bias on my part. I love me some wobble.

CANDYdisturber responds:

Wobble is good for the soul, bad for the panties.

I was getting crazy vibes throughout the track, man. Great stuff! Experimenting can always be fun. Just throwing caution to the wind can result in some crazy stuff, just like this. Seriously, those open hats were doing things to me, oh my.

The only thing that felt off was 2:09. That transition felt kind of sudden and it threw me off a bit, but you were experimenting, so it doesn't really detract too much. Besides, maybe you wanted it to throw me off, LOL.

Great work, bud! I'm glad one of us is still keeping at it. Looking forward to hearing more (:

CANDYdisturber responds:

Hey, thanks man! Yah, that transition was kinda thrown together to be honest.
The hihats were fun to put together; took a loooong time to get them right though.

Really funky stuff! I love what you did with the vocals. That piano's hitting a soft spot of mine too. Great job, and keep up the good work :D

CANDYdisturber responds:

Thanks man ^_^

If anything, you know how to set moods with your tracks. This is something I can really lay back to and clear my mind with. Yeah, it gets repetitive, but it feels more acceptable in this track to me for some reason. Maybe it's something to do with the bass. God, that thing is wonderful.

Whatever you're doing with the vocals here, I love it. Maybe it could have done with a bit more chopping at moments, but that's just my personal taste. For me, when vocals are chopped nicely and in a particular way, it just brings the track to a whole new level.

Overall, very soothing stuff, with a great beat and wonderful vocal and vocal FX. Just could have done with a bit more variety, and you'd be set :D

CANDYdisturber responds:

I've been experimenting with vocal chopping and vocoding a lot lately ^_^

Thanks again for the reviews, I really appreciate the feedback. Variety is one of my biggest problems because I get excited when I make something that sounds good, and just want to drag throughout the whole song

I thought I'd return the favour of you reviewing all my shit by giving you my own (:

Of course, sadly, I'm not knowledgeable about chiptune at all, so I can't really help at all, but I think the guy below me nailed it on the head. Overall, it kicks ass, and I'd love to see a lot of your stuff in flash games on NG, but yeah, after a while, without some variation, things get a little stale. It doesn't grate on my ears as much as it doesn't spice things up as much as I think it can be spiced up.

Then again, I still don't know anything about chiptune, so all this criticism could be for naught, so take it with a grain of salt!

CANDYdisturber responds:

Ohai, brah. Thank ya dearly

Honestly, I'd agree with you there. One of the reasons for minimal variation mostly comes from the fact that it was a quick-make that I liked enough to put on Newgrounds lol; not really a huge amount of effort in this one. And you don't have to know anything about a genre to like it; you can always pose feedback on a song :D

You set a great atmosphere with the synths you had running! Really chill and mellow, and my lord, that bass. You hit that lower register just at the right spot. I could feel that bass rippling through me. Great stuff!

CANDYdisturber responds:

Thanks! Glad you liked it :D

You're really coming out with some solid stuff now. It can all be a little bit longer, but that can also come over time, so that's not really an issue right now.

You have a lot of great ideas that I can tell you're trying to bring out with the stuff you make, and they're really good ones too! Especially with your last track, if more time and effort was put into those clips, they could be really outstanding songs! One critique I have right now for this song though is that I'm not really a big fan of the way you used that high-pitched Skrillex-esque saw that comes in at 0:25. Not because it wasn't used properly in the song. It's just used so often by people that AREN'T Skrillex. Not saying it's too much of a bad thing, but you should also strive for your own type of sound. You have ideas to work with, I know that. Look for more samples/synths that aren't used more often and try to create some stuff with that (:

I think I've also seen enough from you to be confident in this decision. I think it's about time I get you scouted!

EnterPrize responds:

Alright!

Whoa, man, this was actually pretty damn sick! When you made the track skip the way it did at 0:21, I thought that was just my browser messing up. It was a really neat effect, and you used it really well!

And I must say, the drop is an absolute banger. The one problem with it is that it still feels sort of empty. I think if you added some hats, that would have just made the drop 100x better. Maybe even another synth in there that has a melody, or has a more busier accompaniment to the bassline?

All in all though, it's still a massive clip! I really think you should consider turning it into a full length song. Get some more stuff going on and have this go on for 3+ minutes? I'll download it in a HEARTBEAT.

EnterPrize responds:

I would but sadly its a remix of a song.

This is really good stuff! I'm loving the echo you got on the clap there. Gives it a nice, dramatic effect. You made some really catchy melodies, and they sound really nice with the bass in the background. If anything, I wish you made the kick heavier, and the bass a lot more heavy, more prominent. It's there, definitely, but I'm not feeling it as much as I wish I was ):

mayaismybitch responds:

Haha! Thanks, i appreciate it man! I'll fix the kick and the bass thing.

That was terrific, and you definitely made it longer, which is great! I'm trying to find something to pick at for this song, because I don't want to just say "keep up the good work", but damn, it's solid! Great progression, perfect dramatic melody, nice underlying, heavy notes to keep that heaviness and darkness, and you really kept up that dramatic feel.

I guess all I can really say is keep up the good work! I loved it. Always try to improve though. There's never a limit for that ;D

CANDYdisturber responds:

Thank you :D Your review really means a lot to me considering I don't get many usually haha
